Film Studies Day 37

If I had to do a one person broadcast, I don't think I would be able to. My attention span is not large enough to mess around with that for so much time. I would get extremely angry and possibly assassinate the president of the United States of America. Then I would go on and become an evil warlord that would rule the world out of anger.

Film Studies Day 36

In my opinion, the power visuals in this story were when Jacobs mother kissed his head. She is showing that she loves him and means a lot to her. Another one was the ending with everyone singing Heavenly Peace. It shows that they think whats happening is unfortunate, but also natural so Jacob should die in peace.

Film Studies v2 Day 22

I think the book is similiar to the movie, although most movies change it up a bit, I don't think they would have done it for Shawshank Redemption because it isnt a story you can, or would want to change very much.

Film Studies v2 Day 18

The psychology of a character walking from a blurred background to a focused background might be that they were confused about things and then they discovered things that helped them know what was happening. When they walk om a ocused to blurry background it could show that they used to know what was happening and then suddenly everything was new and the character didnt understand it. The psychology of a low angle shot is that the subject being filmed is much more powerful than what they would seem with no angle. A high angle shot will make the viewer think the subject is tiny and pointless to life, and that they are unimportant.

Question

If we have theater, why bother with film?

Theater requires more talent on the actors part, because they must always get it rit but in film you can redo it until you get the perfect shot.

Hugo Book Scene

1. The pace of the narration is slow and mysterious and the pace of the characters dialouge gets progressivly faster, and more excited like when a detective finds out something important about a crime, and is very excited and finds out more and more.
2. The dialouge occurs regularly as both character dialouge and narration.
3. The dialouge is slow.

Film Studies v2 Day 16

1. Robots - The sounds of Robot City really tell how mechanical and magnificent the city is.
Top Gun - The sounds that they use when the pilots are flying in the air show how awesome planes are. Wall-E the sounds inside the ship are cool and make it better.

Film Studies v2 Day 14

I would show the character in a very depressed state, and would show the character and the girl hugging in a black and white shot. It would then show the 2 people doing happy things together in a sepia colour. It would then go back to a shot of the person dropping a shot glass, it shattering, and then they walk to the bathroom.

Film Studies v2 Day 7

Lights and optics create images by giving light and allowing the viewer to see the subject. If it werent for lights and optics... We would be screwed. The impact they have on style and approach is that light will give the product a visual side of the story. Without the visual side, you would simply have audio that wouldnt make sense.

Film Studies v2 Day 3

I am a negative person. The song that reflects my personality is Kill Everybody. The lyrics that I most identify with are "I want to kill every body in the world. Owee owee ee oh owee owee oh oh ee oh oh owee oh oh ee owee ee. I want to eat your heart." I identify with these lyrics because I want to kill everybody and eat their hearts. I also like to have seizures because they are very exciting.
